Was playing around with my '02 that I picked up yesterday and I noticed this rubber flap under the tank that is attached to the petcock assy. It was kind of rolled up on itself, but I was curious which way it's supposed to lie- going forward under the tank to shield between the tank & airbox, or running back & down towards the shock/exhaust. Not sure which way it's supposed to be routed.

it goes toward the back and over the holes the bolt at the bottom of the tank goes through

 

It goes in the trash.

 

HAHAH I have no Idea how mine fits either. I just jam it in there, can I rip it out?
