hose hook up under gas tank
Hello,
I just purchased a 1998, red, last weekend. Awesome bike. Nice mate to my FJR.
I had my tank off today. I thought I had it all set for re-install. When I got to the last hose going to the tank, not the large gray hoses going into the petcock, a thin hose with a small silver clamp on it; I installed a medium and small size vertically into the tank, with no clamps. I put the 2 large gray, with clamps into the petcock. The small balck hose remaining looked like it could go on the male end of the petcock facing down, or on the male end, on th left of the petcock. The one on the left of the petcock looks more the correct size of the clip. The one on the bottom of the petcock is slightly larger.
The diagram in the manual and bike bsndit wern't clear enough.
Thank you.
Darren

it doesn't go on the one hanging down - common mistake. bike won't run - like its out of gas. that is the vacuum line from the intake tract of the cylinder providing negative pressure to activate the vacum petcock. Most of us get it wrong often despite knowing otherwise.
