Post accident weirdness

So I finally got in my first ride since I was hit by that 83yr old woman, and I noticed a bit of weirdness.

Mostly that my left can was getting way hotter than the right. Pre accident both carbon fiber cans stayed basically cool to the touch no matter how long of a ride.

Now the left one gets too hot to touch while the right stays cool. I can (wearing gloves of course) cover up either one and the exhaust exits the other side just fine.

The odd thing is that nothing was/is visibly crimped. Bike seem to run fine.. So I am really perplexed by this.

Anyone have any idea what might be going on?

I'm not sure what to make of that. Perhaps a mud dauber built a nest inside your exhaust system somewhere. That is my best guess. Did you remove the entire system to inspect for dents on all surfaces?

Very odd indeed. About all I can think of is to swap the cans over and see if the RHS one gets hot.

I think it sounds like one of the cylinders has a fresh air leak on the intake side. I don't know how or where you were hit but it sounds to me like one of the cylinders is running way lean. Glad your back up.

also check the exhaust mounts at the engine to be sure they are still seated properly and weren't bent/loosened

Check your carbs, the carb cluster might have been jarred from thier seated positions.
Air leak city.
Check for leak between carbs and manifold, and also between carbs and airbox / filters.

Yep it is still the stock header.. However I remember many times checking the temp of the cans because the high mount makes them so that they are right where any passenger WILL have her feet against them. And they always were cool to the touch, in all riding conditions. But now the left one gets hot and the right stays very cool..
