Did you remove the tank? If so, is the smallest hose with the clip going to the bottom of the petcock or the back of it?

Sounds to me like a loss of vacuum, thus my thinking it's a loose hose or unplugged nipple. Double check everything. Tank vent lines, drain lines, etc., etc....

well @#$% i DID plugg up that vacumm hose coming off the T and it still has been very moody since this Modification...maybe when i bring it in for the 8000 service (which includes the carbs and stuff) they can fix it nice. i would say dont do the PAIR removal just based on the way my bike currently runs.

Damn, i want it to be one little thing wrong but i cant put my finger on it

no. pair will make it worse. the pair system burns off the excess fuel in the exhaust. disabling will make it so whatever currently is getting burned off int he pair system will now be burned off in the exhaust. your running real rich if you're shooting off flames.

I think I'm gonna be forced to order block offs... I really don't want to but our work bench is covered and it'll take me forever to make my own right now... anyone have a link to any on ebay? the ones i have linked are like $20 i believe

it's your jetting in the carbs. I'm assuming you baught it with the D&D's? the jardines probably are a little more restrictive (not a bad thing) and the jets should probably be dropped down a size or the needles adjusted...

Yeah the flames....the backfiring on decel its very annoying

So what to do, just smaller jets and stuff??
This something easy to do or
Just take it to dealer and explain its running rich???

Does raising the idle or changing the air filter do anything?

i am pretty sure you will need to raise the idle after doing this mod...i had too. i have jardine high mounts, DYNO jet kit and stock air filter

i did the removal of the PAIR sunday and now it runs kinda crappy but less backfiring for sure!! i would probably put it all back together but its too much of a pain in the ****.

Okay, I gotta jump in here about the PAIR. Removing the system WILL reduce the flames out the pipes, if not stop the problem altogether. But Blurr, you're still running rich and you should take care of it (or have it taken care of). By the time the exhaust reaches the atmosphere, it should be cool enough where it will not ignite. The PAIR system is injecting air into your exhaust system while it is still extremely hot and this is what causes the ignition. That flame travels down the exhaust and out the pipe. What do you think causes the popping on decel? Explosions in the exhaust, but Blurr is running so rich that the flame continues to burn even after it reaches the atmosphere.

Yeah I am going to see about having the cabrs adjusted. It didnt do it with the other pipes just the jardines and you can see the exhaust is very black and stuff from the flames
