noticed a small oil leak today need advice

I noticed a small oil drip on the driveway today. after further investigation i found that its coming from the two vent hoses that run down to the belly pan on the left side of the bike. Its just a few drops but it wasnt there yesterday. Bike runs fine and i cant hear any unusual sounds coming from the motor. The only thing ive done out of ordinary was had to make an emergency stop to avoid hitting an idiot on the way home yesterday. Where do those hoses go to? i followed them as far as i could but they got lost in the fairings. What could cause this and what can i do to fix it. ill try to get some pictures after while.

They are fuel tank vent hoses and the water pump weep hole hose (depending on the year of your VTR).

mine does the same thing. seems to only happen to mine after the morning sun cooks the bike for a little bit and pressurizes the tank some. No need to worry about it. Its just a quirk of the bike.

There's also an oil catch tank that drains the bit of oil that comes into the airbox from the PCV. The best thing to do with it is to plug the drain hose at the bottom and let it accumulate in the hose. A clear hose lets you see how much oil is there.

I must admit - I am describing the RC51 oil catch tank. I'm pretty sure the Super Hawk is the same.

Sorry no drain tube on the VTR. If the bottle gets too full it just runs all over the bottom of the airbox..... Sounds like another issue they fixed on the RC51

I noticed the same thing on mine. glad its nothing to worry about. I was wondering how oil was getting in there. if anybody can explain the phenomenon to me in a little bit more depth I'd appreciate it.
