Noob Question

So.. I know i'm the newbie around here, but I noticed on my hawk, and my previous motorcyce ('96 Magna 750), that at night, while I'm riding, for the first minute or so if I rev the engine up, the light gets brighter (Like normal) but after a few minutes it the light stops getting brighter no matter what RPMs I'm at. Now I'm an automotive mechanic and in a car I'd say that I'm having a sort of temperature dependent voltage charge loss. But as I said in the beginning, It happened on my Magna as well. So my question is, Is this normal? or have I just had 2 Honda's in a row with the same problem?

Thanks in advance everyone,
-Danny

It might be that the charge circuit is busy charging the battery up right after you start up. Then once it's topped off the light levels off. Make any sense?

Make sense to me. Never noticed on the bike but on my diesel peugeot it is just like that.

Makes plenty of sense, I guess I never really thought about it that way. Thanks for the Welcome, and the Info.

Hope you enjoy yourself here. Lots of good people with lots of knowledge. I've been to Littleton before. Spent several days there on a movie project for an implement company. I gained new found respect for the dairy farmer. God those people work hard and long hours. I don't remember the name of family that owned the farm. It was an old man and his two sons and their families. They all worked their asses off.

Yeah, there are a lot of hard workers out here, quite a few farms and a lot of horses. We also have so pretty nice mountain rides too I'm thinking the first performance mods are gonna be a K&N and some slip-ons. I don't know if my bike's jetted for altitude because I just got it last month used. I got it at a local dealer with 3,3xx miles so i'm hoping the CCT's will hold up for quite a while still. Anyone else from around here? Within three weeks of owning it, I noticed 4 other SH's near where I live.
