missing at 5000 revs

ive just got this bike its missing at 5000 revs i have put new plugs air filter changed the cdi unit also changed carbs ,im wondering if when the last owner had it he changed the cct and it 180 out of timing how can you tell and how do i reset the timing ive tried everything possible to make this bike run correct and im losing faith i even put the standard exhausts back on please help cheers john.

check compression, if that specs than I would check valve timing seeing as you mentioned the prior cct replacement. One tooth off can give it a miss.

timing

yes i no that but how do you adjust the timing thats the problem im having i dont no how to adjust it any idea cheers john.

Ignition timing is not changeable, unless you buy a timing advancer which is basically a different profile sprocket of sorts.

Valve timing requires you to remove both valve covers and inspect the cam sprocket alignment marks are in the right place. If someone messed up the cct install its possible your valve timing is off.

also you might need to check your Throttle position sensor is set right, and that it is plugged in, and not broken.

on the right side of the aft carb... Please read the maintenance manual, we cannot help with all the misinformation you keep giving in different posts! pick one and keep your problem in one post, so we can follow and maybe help.

sync

i put new carbs on and they have been synced its exactly the same as when i had the old carbs on cheers john.

New carbs or a different set? You synced them after you put them on your bike?

I know you may hate me for posing this but my truck was missing above 4000 it was a coil so may be test both of them on your bike.
