Could be you need to shim your valves.

And would that only happen at low rpm?

How many miles on your Hawk? Mine "ticks" too, not too loud but it's there and I have manual CCTs. I think it's the nature of the engine but we can work through things for your piece of mind. Vavle adjustment, while a little of a pain in the ... are not that difficult. Do you have the stock CCTs? Did you get your "vibration under acceleration" sorted out?

Well mine just rolled over to 35,000 on Sunday. I just got the bike in early December.seemed to b well taken care of.I've done oil in it and coolant.not plugs or air filter yet tho. The ticking does kinda worry me.its always kinda there.I talked to a Honda shop around my area they said $700 for a valve job.... It's does have the stock ccts I havnt changed because I'm not to clear on the process of the Manuel ones in installing them.

And no I havnt I checked the motor.mount bolt all seemed ok.I'm stumped on that on to

The first thing I would do would be to download the service manual from this site. Second would be to study the KB articles on manual CCT changes. Perhaps there are some of our members out there to give you a hand on this project? I wold pull the rear wheel to investigate the vibration thing. At the very least have it balanced. Valve shims are pretty easy to do and someone who can distinguish K from KE rivets ought to be able to do it after reading the service manual.

This guy is selling a whole engine for $900 as an example of how expensive the stealership is on that valve job:

Ok that's awesome.I'm guna do exactly that ill go and have the rear wheel balanced and have tma closer look at the chain and sprocket. And ill download the Manuel and possibly give this a try hahayou have been more then helpful thank u very much.oh and I am on the look out for Italian red left fairing and rear fairing and a new seat if u come across anything thanks again for ur help I sent u a friend request.

whats a good front and rear sprocket combo if I want just bit bit more pick me up when coming out of a corner? Mine seems to lug a bit I'm only 6 foot 200 pounds so I figure it should have a bit more pull.and it just started to kinda make a valve noise when starting out from a stop light just like. Car would if u lugged it up a big hill at 35mph and 4th gear haha

Here's a good thread for gearing:

Don't forget to look at the cush drive while you have the rear wheel off.

Your ticking could be the carb slides or an exhaust leak....

As for more power out of the corners..... have you tried twisting the throttle? Maybe keep the rev's up a bit by proper gear selection before entering a corner?

Probably just the carb slides ticking on the bottom of their travel. At higher rpm they will still bounce a bit but will be higher, hence the reason it doesn't happen at higher rpm.

25mph in 2nd....well there is your problem, that is around 1500 rpm, or you are lugging the **** out of it.... that is why you have first gear.... Keep the rev's up and you will not have any problems...

Rubber that fills a gap inside the wheel. When you remove the rear wheel I believe it is the sprocket side that comes apart from the wheel. In there you'll see these rubber pieces I'm talking about. If the rubber holding the two sides together is broken they can roll around in there making that side of the wheel clang about.

Looks like this:

Here's the technical explanation:
