Hey guys i just picked up my first superhawk and love it but it seems to be sputtering and not running right at about 3-4K RPM and on and it almost seems as if its backfiring through the carbs and the more throttle the less power it seems can anyone help...i was told it was a coil but dont know for sure havent tried one yet

 

Does it have aftermarket exhaust and/or air filter? If so, jetting is probably not right. Other possibilities are dirty carbs, dirty air filter, worn plugs, plug wires leaking to ground....

Mine started running on 1 cylinder a little over a month ago, and it was a plugged slow jet in #2 carb.

And welcome to the craziness You've got a great bike! It can be sorted out.

 

although coils can cause a symptom like this too, we need more info, things like when the last time it ran well was, how long if it has been sitting what kind of mods you have exhaust air filter etc. That will help.
