its not if...its when...I crashed (new tear down pics...rebuild to come)

well...its not if its when right?

Had a little low side on friday and took a bit of a spill but all is well. Thanks to my full leathers I walked away with only a separated shoulder and my bike was ridden home from the crash site by none other thensuperhawforum.com's own nineighthawk.

Basically the rear stepped out and I recovered it then I had some target fixation and was braking untill I hit the gravel on the shoulder then whoop...there I went

I will take some pics and post em up soon but basically as soon as I was outta the emergency room I started stripping the bike...I think I truly have a problem...I tore the bike apart with one arm and a head full of pain pills so there will not really be any good crash damage pics

oh and if any of yall have a left radiator with all the mounting brackets then let me know!

other stuff I am lookin for

clutch lever and perch

shift lever

left clipon and bar end (maybe...I might do an aftermarket clip but poor college budget might not allow for that)

and on the wish list..things I think I may never find

A left side D&D in black with show and go mid pipe(long shot here)

Another positive is I finally have a reason it paint it black, do my jetting, and block off the pair!!!!

Sorry for the crash, get better ASAP, I have to admire a positive mind like yours.
Glad you're injuries are not as bad as they could have been.

I got the stock clip on - pay the shipping it's yours. I also got a set of Vortex for $70+ shipping. Sorry about your crash but like was said, attitude is everything.

Crashes suck man. Keep the positive attitude, and get better soon. And like I always say to my employees, hopefully you'll learn something from this, and not repeat the same mistake twice. Good luck...

Yep... sorry you went down.

So no surgery need for the shoulder, huh? That's a good thing.

Did something similar about a month ago on my SuperMoto, funny thing is SuperMoto's sure take a fall much better than the sportBikes. I just picked her up, still runnig, took a quick look to see if the neighbors just saw my stupid crash and pulled off.

Got back to the house and the Axle frame sliders had a few scuffs, and the aluminum renforced hand guards had a little road rash on the plastic, other than that she was ready to rip.

I however didn't have my full gear on and didn't fair as well as the SuperMoto.

Road rash on the calf suck.

Never hurts to get a little reminder to wear ATGATT. (All the Gear All the Time)

Is the radiator leaking? I had a similar low side a couple of weeks ago, and it is interesting how the same parts can sustain different amounts of damage. For instance: my tank is destroyed compared to yours, my clip on is bent badly, the plastics from the windscreen to the left side are destroyed, and the reservoir on the clutch master cylinder was broken off, but not a scratch on the engine case cover, footpeg and shifter were untouched, the master cylinder and clutch lever are good (other than the reservoir). Funny thing, nobody offered me their parts! Fortunately my radiator is not leaking. It is bent a little bit, but does not seem to effect the function. But I have just about ordered (or bought from ebay) everything I need to get back on the road. I just noticed a whole lot of parts today on ebay that you need. It looks like the guy is parting out a bike. He definitely has clutch master cylinder and left clip on.

Edit:
IT looks like the auction is gone/ended, but there were no bids on it when I saw it this morning, so it will be back.

No, but I got beat out too. I think I made the guy pay though! I opted for a new reservoir from a parts dealer. Sad part is I paid $75 for just the reservoir which requires 8 different pieces, and I left the wrecked reservoir sitting in the dirt where I crashed because I thought it would be a "cheap" part to replace. It is probably still sitting there at the outside of turn two at Buttonwillow in the gravel.

On the ebay stuff, try sniping, i find i do much better at winning doing that and the cost is nearly noithing. It works like Proxy, except you never bid on ebay until 4 or 5 seconds before the auction ends. This way you do not get in a bidding war and run the price up for no reason.

I use www.Auctionsniper.com

I must admit the SuperHawk has taken a back seat this summer to the SuperMoto. She is so much friggin fun.

Easy on tires and you can rip the turns. I have to tell my sportbike buddies to watch following me inot turns as i very rarely brake related to how a sportbike has to brake.

The CRF450R i already had made a perfect conversion, she will do 100 MPH top speed and cruise easily at 65 to 70, so hear in TN the twistie, mountainous back roads are a SuperMoto's domain.
Here is a pic from the gap earlier this year.
