By idle drop do you mean fuel screw adjustment?

AFAIK, the tps has been discussed but it has been inconclusive as to whether it causes any significant changes. Of the write ups I read even out of spec tps don't seem to make a big diff even when corrected. YMMV

I like running a little richer than that....so does the bike. Try 2.0 - 2.25 turns out depending on your mods and elevation. Not to mention the adjuster tool is impossible to find and outrageously expensive at about $125.

TPS won't really go out of spec unless you change your idle significantly from what I understand.

7Moore7 have you checked your tps? most seem to be up around 800 ohms, mine was at 810 and it does make a difference on the bottom end both at idle and pulling away.

Well it comes very high like that from the factory (I think for to emissions reasons). I should have worded that better. What I meant is that once you reset your TPS to 500 ohms, it won't go out of spec very far. My was well above 800ohms to start with as well.

They set it to fit whatever regulation they need to pass and then lock it down. If you notice, you're not supposed to tamper with it (you have to drill out the anchors).

I didn't read the OP very closely. I thought he was asking if he should regularly check TPS!
