I need exhaust help
OK, so in riding home yesterday, the exhaust gets noticably louder.
It's from the rear cylinder. There is a short down pipe from the head down to the mid pipes. It's leaking at this first joint. The exhaust is blowing up towards the seat.
Today, I loosened the clamp and put a small floor jack under the pipes. I could see it move up and mate, but it is still leaking. Doesn't matter how tight I make the clamp.
Do they make exhaust "donuts" for motorcycles? Or is there another fix for this? Yes, I know some welders, but you all know how hard it is to get to while still on the bike. . . . . next to the shock, over the chain guard, between the chain to get to the bolt, etc.
Help? Please?
TIA
Erik

Spooky.. I just swapped exhausts and ordered the exhaust gasket for my left side where the midpipe meets the can (there are 3 gaskets in the system that are all the same) which was missing. I ordered it from Ron Ayers. They estimate I'll get it my 6-4. After shipping and the part cost it would have been quicker and cheaper to get it from my local shop (one week and $14 vs 2 weeks + and $16 @ Ayers).

well, I went with the muffler goop or whatever they call it. Now i'll have to chip that **** out of there to put the gasket in.
Just fired it up after letting the mud set for 2 hours. No leaks so far.
Thanks for the links to the gaskets. I'll pick up few up to have as spares for the future.

I have stopped using Ronayers. The last time I ordered there, the parts were listed as in stock and it took so long to get them I'd nearly forgot I ordered them. And paid for shipping. My dealer can usually get things in 2 days, no ship charges and have always been the same or cheaper......but their fiche is convenient, so I'll just consider my past business a service charge
