Hey Right Crank Case Removal.
Hey Guys My name is Tony. I Just bought a 98 SuperHawk and found this forum :P. I was wondering if you guys could help me out.I was riding around the other day and fell at low speeds *facepalm* and scrapped the right crankcase cover. There is a little hole, which i was going to have a friend patch cause he's a welder. But I'm having trouble finding the other side of the "Pulse Alt Starter Switch" and having problems yanking the thing out. I tried prying with a flathead but scared i might do more harm then good. Any Helps or tips would be appreciated.

Yea the cover is my main problem, its like not separating from the bike at all like the flathead doesnt seem like it can wedge between the crack abd the gasket. Should i wack it with a rubberhammer or is there a penatrating oil that can assist me ?

there are 2 dowel pins and the gasket bond to break, so a rubber hammer is needed, but you have to force the cover away from the crank case [ie at 90 deg to the bike] not along the gasket split [ie in the line of the bike],
there should be 2 bosses on the cover to lever against, one at the back and one at the front, use them, never try and put a screwdriver into the gasket face area [but you knew that anyway]
