I would have known 24 hrs ago that the part is different than mine. The plugs do not match!!!!!!!!!!!

My mech is messing around w/ my plastic connector plug to modify so it fits - should know within the hr if it works

Crossing fingers

I'm suppose to leave tomorrow @ 7am for road trip
NO ******* GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well at least a friend is lending me his ZZR - Thanks Carl

On my Transalp, there is a pair of them located under my seat, and they were a problem because the weight of the rider would work the soldered points till they broke. When that happened, no sparky, no ridey...

Long story short, servicehonda.com was the cheapest place I found new ones. Almost one third the price of anyone else... just sayin...

not yet. it definitely is the converter unit since, my buddy - where vtr is located - borrowed a converter from another '02 hawk & mine fired up. Thus, I need to order a new 1, but I'm out of commission anyway - broke my right wrist, don't ask

Tweety, by chance do you have a photo of where the 2 black boxes mount? I am piecing together a 1999 which is different from my 2005. It is a bit of a mess. Thank you. JB

No picture, can't get one since mine aren't in the stock location either... I put them outside the frame like the newer ones...

Basicly they lay flat underneath the lock, held together by a rubber contraption...

I just came back on to say that I found a photo in the manual (17-5). They are stacked below the seat lock. Thanks! JB
