Help , Front sprocket

Just put a 15 th on my bike down from a 16 th and tightened it up and it starts banging and making all sorts of shitty noises . the bottom of the chain sort of rises and falls so i loosened it off again and moved it a tooth on the bottom off the rear sprocket but to no avail .
the chain and sprockets are in really good nick by the way .
Any ideas ?

considering my limited knowledge on it all, all i can suggest is to take it apart and put it all back on again, double checking everything. i would definitely get a second opinion first though.

Are you saying that when you rotate the rear wheel the chain will tighten and loosen?

A couple of things, sprockets have a certain amount of run out to them, which is why the chain will go from losse to tight with out changing anything. Adjust you chain at the tighest piont.

Mark the cahin with a marker and see if the noise happens at the same spot each time. If so see if you can find the actual spot, and check the chain rollers in that spot. You might have a couple of broken ones.

Good luck

yes, this sounds like you need to tighten your chain... if you went from a 16T to a 15T, the sprocket is smaller, which gives you crazy slack... Your manual gives good instructions on chain tentioning

sprocket noise

Got it sorted , ie dont do the adjustment on the paddock stand . make sure the rear is on the deck and everything comes up trumps . also very pleased as it goes like a rocket . Came whipping down the road 140 km and coming towards me was the local law enforcement looking rather irate so quickly opened it up , shot round the corner and down the road to home , straight into the garage and shut the door . No more riding today but still smiling .

Is it similar to the Monaro, but smaller?
