Unhappy fork oil & air gap

I have a leaking fork seal I have 7.5w fork oil & seals to put in. I have been in the thread about fork oil , air gap & need a stiff drink now! as air gaps I have seen go from 130mm to 175mm I have race teck springs with out gold vales fitted & it was ok till now reading all about setting up the front forks has driven me to drink. can anyone help put it back on track or is it back to the bottle of jd.
