/facepalm 2 day old headlight blew

I am a bit nervous about this. My high-beam blew the other day so when I sealed up my exhaust(which has made a world of difference). I put in a silverstar ultra headlight. I was happy for it and then today (less than 2 days later) under hard acceleration in 4th it brightened and then blew again. I am hoping this is a known issue with the bulb (55/60w), but am afraid that the truth has to do with another failing R/R. Any Ideas on how I can test this tomorrow?

check the voltage specs on the bulb itself. i went threw 2 bulbs in my srad that were too high. they also ended up frying the light plugs. check the voltage at the battery on a warm bike at idle, then at 5k. voltage shouldnt be above 14.5 -/+. any higher and that may be causing the blow out.

The person at he honda store where I picked up my exhaust gaskets said I needed a 55/60 which is what the package for the bulb said.

hmmm....i would check the voltage at the battery like i said then check the voltage at the plug. wiggle it around to see if you get a short to happen in the line somewhere.

The eastern beaver site is silly hard to navigate. I cannot figure out which RR kit I am supposed to buy not can I figure out which relay works for my bike.

If I do need another R/R this model would be a drop in right?
93 94 Honda CBR 900RR Voltage Regulator Rectifier

i wouldnt go old school. the whole point of replacing your RR with another RR is to get the modern technology and manufacturing tolerances of newer RRs. i would say that RR would be as bad or worse then your factory one.

You do know that I wrote a "manual" complete with a list of what R/R's are a good replacement, just a week or two ago, right?
