exhaust heat insulation
Hey Guys,
I recently painted my lower fairing & re-installed it my the bike. I am looking for some type of insulation that can be placed in the bottom of the lower to help protect it from the exhaust heat. I have some reflective tape but would like something in addition to it. I am not looking to wrap my pipes..........Thanks!

Back when I restored a gsxr600 racebike I used a heat shield from thermo-tec. It was self adhesive but I did one better and painted fiberglass resin on it and made sure it would stay in place. I couldn't believe how well it worked. Where the heat shield was, the header was maybe an inch away and from the outside the paint was mildly warm to the touch. Where the shield wasn't, the header was probably 4-6 inches away and the paint was HOT. It really works and I've sang it's praises before. You can find it at places like jegs and summit and I'm sure lots of other places.
