Did you check your timing? Maybe just valve clearance?

well if its a bent valve then i dont think the noise would go away. i assume you havent done the MCCT upgrade yet?

I wouldn't start or ride it until you investigate the valves.

well first pop the little round cap on the stator cover off. that will give you access to the crank bolt (turn counter clock wise). then get that little cap right next to it off, that will let you see the timing marks. then take the valve cover off so you can see the cams. now turn the motor over til you see FT in the little cap hole and line up the lines. now look at the cams. you should just be able to see above the surface of the head FE and FI on the outside edges of the cams.

ok so i got mcct's yesterday off krieger out of ohio. he is the man n knows his stuff. put em in today and when i got to the front cyl i pulled the cam cover and noticed i jumped probably around 10 teeth. thats why it was hittin so hard. ive adjusted everything n got the cover back on... sounds like everything is right again. Havent buttoned everything up but will tomorrow n see how it sounds when running, but when i turn the motor it sounds gnarly. thx to every1 who helped with advice n deff thx 2 krieger cct's

Get them through a dealership. Should be about 30 bucks a piece, genuine Honda. 8541 has a link for cheap Honda parts. Either pm him for it or search around. He's posted it recently

If everything worked out, the last thing I'd be complaining about is a damaged or wasted cam cover gasket man!

Glad to hear it appears to have worked out. Gimme a call, let me know for sure.

ok well i do seem to have a problem, i did the bafflectomy a few days b4 the ccts took a dump. ran fine minus the carb fart at 3k rpm. ran 140 no prob. today i was finally able to get on it and the bike stumbles at 7-7500 rpms. wont go past that. also my starter has a weird whine when i hit it any ideas on either of those?
