Hi,
I changed the cct's to Ape's yesterday and everything went well, no clicking sound upon removal and bike ran perfectly or so I thought. I went for a ride on the highway, it wasn't really warm around 13c and bike temp stayed at around 80-85. But when close to home and in stop and go traffic, the bike reaches its usual operating temp for such riding conditions at about 105, but when stopped at a light I feel the bike dying and slowly the rpm drops from 1200rpm to 900rpm and it dies. I put the choke on all the way and it overs around 1500rpm and eventually drops to below 1 grand and dies.

I'm pretty sure I put every line back in its right place when I put the tank back on after cct's, but then again I have ADD so who knows!

I took it for a ride today, started fine did a few miles and when it reached 100 degrees, it started to die out again...

Any idea what it could be?

Check and see if you put the vacuum line back on the shut off. Mine did similar due to a loose line!

 

If it was any other line than the vacuum that wasn't in the right place, would the bike run?
I have the pdf version of the manual, but the images aren't that clear. I'll raise the tank to have a look and see if anything is loose or plugged in the wrong place.
Is the shut off on the side or on bottom of the metal part attached to the gas tank (don't know the name of that part).

I printed the pic and will compare it to mine first thing in the morning.

I hope that's all it is...

 

Only someone with add like me would forget a small piece of paper towel between the bottom of the air box and the top of the carbs...I put it in to keep anything from dropping into the carbs...
Well since the hoses all seemed to be in their rightful place, it has to be the paper towel, maybe it kept the air box from forming a proper seal with the carbs.
Took her for a ride and no more cutting out!

I did that once on an old Penton (KTM) that I had. I watched the bits fly out the exhaust.
