double spring hose clamps on carb cooling

hi. quick question,

is there a compelling reason why Honda used the double spring clamps on the 8mm (5/16") cooling hoses other than clearance and accessibility?

the reason i ask is that i'd missed the fact that i'd moved one down onto the hose while working on the carbs and managed to mangle it while trying to put it back into place after the airbox and tank were installed. i don't have that clamp and would just as soon use a small screw-band clamp in order to hasten re-assembly.

thanks,

That will work just fine. There is nothing special about that hose clamp.
