Occasionally at traffic lights. my vtr1000 would have a loud pop under the tank. mostly at cold engine temp. it will happen if i am revving the bike without load. (clutch in) I ve seal up one hole on the slide. adjust the tps to 540 ohm. carbs are balanced.
any experience with this?

Yes id bet every VTR ever produced has done that.

MINE will only do it if the carbs are way out of sync or I have a vac leak (lost one of my sync line plugs once)

 

Mine is so bad it blew he crank vent hose out. Ok. I m guilty of not clipping it well.
