Cooling for a Track SH
I am setting up a SH that will be dedicated to the track. I would assume that i don't need to run a fan since I don't plan to sit in traffic. I this correct?
I normally took mine off for track days. It seemed like an impedence to flow to the radiator. I would back off a bit and let it cool on the last lap, while I still had some speed, for air flow across the rads.
I don't have a direct comparison for fan vs. no fan, but the last day I did was extremely hot, and the engine stayed cool enough.

Leave the fan on, it can only need to great unhappiness if you dont, race bikes get hot, or so I have found in 11 years on the grid. It is not worth a blown head gasket, which is the obvious next happening. P E A C E O U T
Water Wetter.
The fan only works when the bike is not moving. That's why they designed it to pull air in from the outside. I think it is important to back off and let it cool before you pull in to the pits. I never saw overly high temps on the gauge when I did that.
Test it first with the fan on. Cool it off on the last lap. If the fan doesn't run coming in to the pits, you're good without it.
RC51s with front mount radiators have no fan. Lots of race bikes run without them. But you have to be smart about it, IMO.

I've always kept my fan in place for the track. I've never had one bit of cooling problems and it's nice to have it there just in case. Nothing is more embarassing than to have coolant boiling over and puking out of your bike.
I'm 99% positive that the Superhawk pulls air from the center and blows it out.
My RC51 SP2 was different though. It pushed towards the center and at low speeds would create dead air and the bike would just get hotter and hotter.

The cooling fan pulls inward.
My HRC "Basic Racer" wiring harness has no connectors for fans.
The Basic Racer was a production RC51 race bike platform, with side-mounted radiators.

I ran my hawk at the track just a week or so ago. I have a single rad - up front. It has 2 fans on it. Running an "I" pace near the end of the day, the temp gauge stayed at 1/2 the scale. I forgot to check it with my digital temp gauge...but, no issues.
running coolant now - will convert to engine ice before next TD.
