Ram cell phone/GPS mounts?
Anyone use the mounting solutions from Ram Mounts? I would like to mount my Sprint EVO to my bike so I can use the nav etc. on it while I ride. They look kind of spendy but they have a real nice sealed unit. Only thing that sucks about it being sealed is there is no way to plug a charge cable in it while I ride.
Anyway if anyone is using them what do you think? Or for those that do have some sort of mount on your bike what are you using and how do you like it?

This thread made me curious so I googled them. Interested now myself but the holder they indicate for my iPhone 4 looks like it's for a bare device. Mine is inside an Otterbox for protection from drops. (not that I ever drop my phone more than a couple times a week...)
I wonder if there's a "universal adaptor" for holding phones already in a case?

Cradle Holder - Universal Finger Grip for Cell Phone - RAM Mount
This looks like the mount that you would need for one with an otter box.

Great to hear some good feedback! I know of one guy who has a bluetooth headset in his helmet and he was talking on the phone while riding and it buffered so well the person he was talking to couldn't even tell he was on his bike. I think he was riding a hardley with a windscreen so that may have been why. Not so sure it'd work as well on a VTR where you have more direct wind on your helmet.
I'm kind of torn between getting the sealed one and getting an open one like the universal one linked to. I like that it's more secure in the sealed one where the universal one is more open and the possibility of the phone falling out over a large bump or coming down off a wheelie (not that I'd ever do such a thing) would dislodge it. However I can't have a charger plugged in on the sealed unit but I could on the open one. Hmmmm......

Because all harley's can do is a leisurely pace!
I'll snap a few pics tonight. I use my nav w/ mp3 player frequently. I wired in a powerlet power outlet and zip tied it to the mirror post. Pics will explain....

Yeah I was thinking something like that. It'd be on the bottom so hopefully water wouldn't go up in it. But I guess you never know! The wind is generally going every which direction so it's hard saying.

RAM too for Nuvi 765T, which is a swell unit with Bluetooth. I trimmed shorter and installed a length of 28mm bicycle inner tube over the stem mount rubber, and have a tether attached between the cradle to the brake MC.

Did U spote my switched cigarette power outlet south of where yours is?
Since many of the above and below pics were taken, more has been added; i.e., a micro switch for the heated grips. I do also run a volt meter (U can see it above on the "flat" of the left side of the fairing). A mosfet VR-R is a must along with an entire new main wiring harness with minimum 14 up to 10 gauge wire, and every circuit is relay controlled and of course re-fused.
U should only know what you don't see...
Would it help explain if I told you I helped develop the now retired Space Shuttles, Tomahawk CM SLCM/GLCM & ALCM, HEOB, DC10, 757/767 and programs when I asked what I was working on the response was "Do you have a need to know"?
A few more pics for you to figure out where's Waldo...and there's more
BTW, it's b-day was 03-97 and now has +70k miles (not km). It would have more but I had a small flock of motorbikes until a few years ago to ride and tend to.

Uh, is there a VTR under all that stuff? LOL!
I like your guy's mounts in the tripple tree nut. I didn't see that one on their site for the VTR. They mainly just showed the one that goes on the brake/clutch mounts. Which one is that?

Without the rear box and excluding the Penske shock resevoir, it actually is no heavier than it would be we the stock cans, and not of my mods are for "looks" (appearance, vanity); they all enhance and serve a safety/performance/ergonomic function!

Keeps me focused on long trips but no where near a GW! But none of it is "gadgets" but flight enhancement devices (Fly Low Custom is my company)
