checking and changing the oil?

checking and changing the oil?

when i check the oil through the clear glass window, how far up should it go? there is 2 lines, should it be in the middle of them or up a little? and how much oil do they take? what kind(10-30)10-40????

Check the oil with the bike standing straight up. It should be between the two lines, not over or under. Not sure of the capacity as I haven't checked the manual for it yet, doing mine next week. Do a search on the forum for the service manual in pdf form.

Just did mine yesterday, 4.1 quarts per the manual possibly a few more ounces in actuality.

between the two lines is fine I always use 4 quarts that .1 means nothing other than you just bought another quart of oil!!!

you are right. i just bought the 4.1 quarts. well a 4 qt. jug and a another qt. man im pissed that **** was 5 bucks a qt. oh well

Bike runs and shifts well with 15-40 or 15-50. I use Mobil 1.
