The system holds around .75 gals. As for flushing the rads, I have never had to do it but there is no reason why you can't.
The hardest part of the job is burping the air out of the system. Because of the side mounted rads the best method is to fill the system and then start the bike. Then, with it running, lean the bike to each side. Tip it over as far as you can to both sides. This should get most of the trapped air out. Then keep an eye on the overflow bottle. Keep topping off the overflow until the bike stops pulling in fluid as it cools. It can take up to 3-4 times until all the air gets worked out.
