Heating Problem

So I changed the coolant and was letting my bike idle to warm up, but none of the coolant came out of the reservoir and the fan never kicked on. It went all the way up to the 4 tick mark near the red zone and neither happened. Is it possible the thermostat is bad? Any suggestions?

I'll gladly help answearing all questions I can... Once you give a good reason to jump around in separate threads... It's kind of counter productive from my point of view...

I realized it after I had done it. Everything is operating fine now, not sure why but once I cut off the motor came back about 10 mins later it had cooled down and now I turned it on and once it got over half way on the temp gauge the fan came on. I guess it just took awhile for it to engage. Sorry bout the multiple threads, just don't want my bike to die and I have a lot of questions.

Well... That would probably be equivalent to the procedure in the service manual for "burping" the coolinf system to get the bubbles out...

The thing though, 3 different threads isn't helping... You or us... You probably get better answears keeping it all in one thread as it's related...
