Castle Nut Tool for the frame

Rather than buying the pricy Honda tools, I did some measuring and compared some old threads and found the frame castle nuts measured 20mm, and 24mm.

A google search turned up a double sided tool, which i found on Ebay for $9.95 shipped. The tool arrived today, and i used it with a 1/2" ratchet and extension to remove the three frame castle nuts!

Hey deat, can you post a link to the fleabay description/auction where you found this or tell the wording you used to find it? Great and smart discovery. Wish I thought of it.

I think i googled searched "30mm 24mm castle tool" or something like that. Sometimes the more vague you are, the more you find.

Well done.... and nice find.

I have then tooling and machines to make that, but no way is it worth the time spent vs the $14 shipped I found thanks to you.

Not the $9 deal you got (that seller had only the one) but still $14 saving me 3 hours of time on the lathe and mil... Oh ya.

No prob.

My seller originally had 3, and I think I bought the second one. I gave his contact info in case you guys wanted to try and contact him via Ebay.

A favor please. Would you, if the top triple is off, see if your new socket fits the stem castle nut?
Thanks in advance.

I am gonna bet that no way it fits. Just because I have used the frame one and just don't think so.

Aw man, just did an ebay search and found no reasonably priced tools. Just not worth $65 to me.

Yeah you're probably right. I am hoping to find a ready made so I don't have to grind a socket to fit.

I also ordered one. For $10 if it fits the stem nut, great, if not I'll have the right tool if I ever need to remove the engine.
