Tighten your Nuts and Bolts!

It's winter time, and I'm taking everything apart for powdercoating and switching out to a LOT of stainless fasteners...

A lot of my bolts are already loose

SO... Check your bolts. Loctite your bolts. It's winter, and you've got nothing better to do!

Be careful with the stainless. With any of the high torque fasteners you might want to use Never Seize instead of Loctite, but Loctite at least. Stainless has a tendency to gall when highly torqued and then it is very tough to remove and it is destroyed in the process.

Not using stainless in any real stressed locations. Loctite is a form of anti-sieze also, because it prevents metal corrosion, being a coating

Nearly everything on my bike that could be replaced with stainless has been.

I use Loctite and still check bolts regularly.

My though is ride the bike hard, service the bike hard.
