Carb synch problem

Ok.. I got the vacuum nipple for the front cylinder, but nothing I try will get it to thread into the hole. I've tried a length of fuel line to spin it, bare hands, hemostats, everything.. I cant get enough downforce on the nipple to get the threads to engage.. Any suggestions?

Its easy to get to, and thread on when you remove the carbs.

Did you order the correct one? It's a really odd fine thread metric if I remember, I just ordered mine from Honda. I was able to put mine in without removing carbs or tank, but it would have been almost as fast to take them off.

yeah, its the right part.. I used the part # from the other threads regarding this, and just to make sure after the 1st hour, I matched the new piece and original bolt up to make sure the threads were the same.. I just cant get enough force to push the threads enough to engage..

I also now realize exactly how much a PAIR removal would open up the real estate in there. jesus that system is a space *****.

Easy enough with the carbs off, which is when I fitted mine.

Yeah, it can be a real pain. Did you try threading the screw/plug back in? Maybe just make sure the threads aren't hosed.

8541Hawk will become famous soon enough
The one good thing about CA bikes is that they come with the nipple installed..... you just have to get rid of all the other crap.

How true! And...you can use part of that original CA line for your synch vac line, also. Punkwood2k, if you haven't done it yet, remove the tank and then take the PAIR off. You can remove the system and keep the valve and hoses intact and store 'em on a shelf or somewhere if you ever want to use it again (don't know why one would...but some folks do). The PAIR removal opens up the entire space and makes working on these bikes a ton easier. With the tank off, the nipple should go in without any probs. Good luck and let us all know how it goes.

you might wanna try to force a plug(e.g., wooden dowel)into the tubing to stiffen it up a bit so you can get more pressure on the threads to get it started.

Here is a german documentation about how to plug the screw into the front cylinder. I think babelfish might help to translate, if not, I will try.
