Carb parts falling out.
Carb parts falling out.
Rebuilding my bike with new engine, new CBR forks, seals, bearings +++ I wanted to shim the carbs as well. As I remove the slider on the front carb a sort of wedge formed part come out together with the slider. It's not even shown as a separate part in the micro fishe. It's formed as a wedge but with cut out for the main bore of the carb. Together with the main body of the carb it forms the "rails" for the slider. Looks like kehin punch small dents in the main body to fix/fasten the wedge.
Anyone seen this before?
I can se quite a bit more light gray dust building up on this carb and I can see wear marks on the part. Probably it adds to the ratteling as well.
Should I just leave it or use som high temp epoxy or....?

Im assuming your are talking about the part circled in red

If so, no that part is not supposed to come out
If I had one that did...id likely dimple the face of it that fits to the carb body for an interference fit, press it back in place fixed with an anaerobic locking compound

You are 100% correct Marquez. Next to the left side tip and just touching the red dotted line is one of the marks they use to fasten the thing with. Thinking about it I suspect they have several of those down the slide.
Dimples and epoxy should do it then.
