bent valves ?? maybe ????????
ok ,heres the deal ,,,i have a 99 sh ,it was just sitting at idle warming up and then made a little noise ,then made a bigger NOISE ,then just quit ,,,pretty sure it's the cct's ,,it's got 27k on it ,should i be worried about bent valves ,is it a tolerance motor or what ,i have not tried to restart it cause i know somethin' is wrong in there , it make a nasty ,loud clapping slapping sound just trying to bump it a little...........................
Thanks in advance

if you think its the CCTs, then yes you most likely will have bent valves. Not a better way to check then to take the valve covers off - the timing marks on the cams will no longer be aligned front to rear cam, and the clearance on the bent valves will be much much wider. If so, once you take the head off you can assess the piston. If its just a couple of valves you can have them replaced or used heads are not uncommon but hard to know what you are getting that way. Its likely just one cylinder.
sounds bad, sorry. if you are handy mechanically you can do most of the work and just pay for the technical things (valve replacement) if you aren't familiar with that part.

If it sounded like a can of spray paint rattling, yea, you bent the exhaust valves.
As stated above, pull the valve covers and check the cam timing marks. If out of proper alignment, yes you will need to pull the head off. Don't worry it's not as bad as you think. You should replace all four valves and have new seats cut. If you do most of the labor yourself it won't be that much. But if you pay the shop @ 75per hour, ouch!

Find a reputable mechanic that can re-cut(clean up) your valve seats and install the valves on the head. @ $100-125
Read the manual and follow the directions. Yes, you should remove the rear valve cover too. So you can check proper valve timing.

likely an o-ring for the spark plug well. I haven't pulled a head off of a hawk yet but it's not uncommon to have an o-ring around the plug well either where the top halve of the head (cam carrier) bolts to the bottom or where the valve cover bolt to the head, depending on the head configuration.
