I got mine last week, but haven't installed them.
have some questions:
1.Is it necessary to take off the folks?
2.Is it necessary to replace the folk oil?
3.If don't take off the folks, how to replace the folk oil?
4.What weight oil shall I use?
Anyone has the answers?

The spacer is simply a seam-welded steel tube that's not much thicker than a tin can. It's nothing special. Either way, you have to cut it to size.

Thanks for all you answered my questions.
You are very nice.
I took a ride yesterday, the original folks works great if the road surface is good, otherwise, they will too easy to bottom.
I will do the replacement this weekend.

Re: Is anyone happy with the stock fork springs?
There were some modifications to the last-gen Hawks (such as mine with the voltage regulator fins) ie. 2003-2005. Were there suspension changes? Everyone seems annoyed with them for some reason.
I've had a few sportbikes: Katana 600 sport "cow", Ninja 250R and 500R. SHawk's never bottomed-out on me, and handled some really cool sweeps at 140mph. I weigh 180. The other 3 bottomed-out at one time or another.
I ride moderately aggressively. Shrug.

I have an 05. I weigh #195. I had to take some preload out to get the proper sag. Now it rides a lot better. I set the rear shock preload on 2nd notch too. Not many twisties around here though. I am happy with the ride and handling.
I looked at the SV too as the local shop sells both. I couldn't pass up on the last year for the Superhawk though and really like the titanium color. I got it for $1000 off list out the door.
