Anyone done a frame swap? how hard is it?

Looking at the frame on a VTR it would suggest that swapping it would be easier than on many conventional frames, but is this the case?

My bike came with a spare undamaged frame, it doesn't really need it but if it's a pretty straightforward job I'll fit it.

Why would you swap out a frame if it didnt need it?

+1

Why would you swap out the frame if your current frame is fine. Id either hold onto the spare, or Ebay it and buy other upgrades for the SH.

I would TIG weld it, no way in hell I would tear the whole bike apart unless I drove over a land mine

I just used JB Weld on mine. It's held for two years now. Yeah not ideal, but I'd rather ride than fix things.

Edit: Wait I checked out your other bike. If you can do that you shouldn't have too much trouble swapping frames.

Looking at his bikes it's hard to believe he cares about such niceties as fairing mounts.
