Another Wheel swap question?

So as knowledgable as everyone is on here I am sure someone has had to do this or has had this done.

I picked up my hawk about 6 months ago right before the winter and I am getting into the nitty gritty of moddin and upgrading so I was trying to find a set of rims that would fit the hawk with little or no mod needed.

Finding stock rims isnt the easiest thing to do ya know

I there anyone out there who has (with the stock front end) used diffrent wheels from diffrent bikes with out having to machine them or mod em?

If so let me know what might be compatible. Thanks!

Ok so reading the thrread it seems that the 98-99 900RR rims might fit the VTR

The 01 929rr rims might fit too right?

If you are talking fronts only, you need to cross reference brake rotor diameters.

No, the 929 wheels won't work. Any year 900RR is a direct bolt on (not "might"). I swap back a forth a couple of times a year between the stock and a 900RR wheel, the spacers and everything stay the same.

A direct bolt-on replacement for the stock front wheel is one from a CBR600F3. There might be some VFR wheels that also work, but I do not know the years. Plus the F3 parts are WAY easier to find.

Are we talking about 900RR front wheels? The '93-'99 900's had a 16 front. That will play havoc with your suspension settings.

To clarify:

Rear ==> 900RR
Front ==> F3

Old post alert

I've been searching like a good forum member and have a question.

Is a CBR900RR front wheel a direct fit, ignoring the fact that it's 16inches?

The reason I ask is Dymag used to make replacements for a 900RR, I'm sure they wouldn't have made a 16inch replacement as it is generally accepted that a 17Inch is best for tyre choice.

So if a pair of dymags were for sale for a 900RR 98-99 model, with a 17inch front, would that front bolt directly on?

Now that's a question that hasn't been answered before right?

My PVM rims are originally from a 900RR and the front is a 17-incher (and a direct swap BTW). Hope that helps.
