who in the st. louis, mo area knows the hawk??? i have a hawk that is getting lousy fuel economy, about 25 mgp. it has a 43 gear in back, don't know what front is. that doesn't seem to be a very radical change from stock. it turns around 4500 rpm at 70 mph, which doesn't seem to different from stock rpm's at cruising speed, but still mpg is lousy. it has also been jetted by the previous owner, and i am not sure what they did then. it also has after market pipes on it. my thoughts are that it might be in the jetting / carb syncs. Can anyone help??
