Shorter brake/clutch levers

Any advantage/disadvantage to swapping out the levers for a shorter version? I think I would like the way they look compared to the stockers, but in theory they would be harder to pull and hold in correct? Does anyone have them? Pics? The paint is worn on mine so I was looking for replacement ideas. I don't think painting them is the best option as there not that expensive.

I have levers from rideitmoto.com. They're, I think, Pazzo knock-offs, but I'm very happy with the quality for the price. Others on here have them as well. They have both short and long and adjustable. I went with the long (or standard?) length. With short, I think you need to have the braking power as you loose some lever leverage and may only be able to fit a couple fingers on the lever. I don't know that stock VTR brakes are the best option for short levers. Of course, I'm just speculating as I've never run short.

I have some i bought off EBay, 5 way adjustable and finish is holding up great for 6k+ miles. I think i got them for about $50, in my opinion they feel/look far better than the stockers.

Those look a lot like the ones I was looking at. So they function great? I general only use 2-3 fingers now for both levers anyway. Install with no problems?

Yes function perfect, i only use 2-3 fingers as well and the contour forms to my fingers better than the stock levers making you feel more in control. Install was easier and took less time than filling up the tank lol

It's not only the length of the lever, but also the leverage ratio on the master cylinder.

A good company would probably redesign the leverage ratio to compensate for the loss of pulling leverage... I would think...

Well, to an extent they're limited to pulling distance (finger length).

Try SDR levers from EBay that are adjustable for length as well as span.

One of the first things I did.

2 years on and no probs.

Work good and look good too!

Wolverine love the look of those. Also like you front turn signals! Look the same as mine. First Hawk I've seen with the same idea as mine.

Levers

Coincidentally I started a similar thread here

https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...88/#post367594

In this thread I posted a link for I think the same levers as below that are less expensive depending on the US - AU exchange rate.

Here's the link again..

+1 with Wolverine....ASV's are awesome levers, I replaced a set of CRG levers with these and couldn't be happier. They are infinitely adjustable, not just 5 or 6 positions, so you can totally tailor the fit on them to the size of your hand and desired position. Another benefit is that they are folding, so a tip-over wont destroy them. Well worth the money!
