Hi there, I see you've taken about .3 seconds to look around the forum. There is this really cool function on the internets called Search. You type in words such as Exhaust, Slip-on, Jardine, Brothers, etc, and it will find posts where people have already talked about exhaust mods for this particular motorcycle.

Please, do yourself a favor and introduce yourself.

my two brothers are pretty damn loud and throaty, even before chopping them six inches, I am gonna go to a 2 into 1 left exit though, i blocked the right pipe and it still sounded good, muffled it a bit though

Welcome to the forum Big O. You'll find lot's of useful information for you VTR here. Exhaust threads are as plentiful as oil and tire threads. Use the search feature to locate one of the many available threads on aftermarket exhausts or a baffelectomy.

I've got 3 sets of aftermarket cans that I'm going to install and make recordings. Two Brothers, Devil High mounts and D&D. I'll post up the results by the end of the week. Also, my Hawk sounded pretty good with De-baffeled stock cans. Search Baffelectomy to get a complete set of instructions.

Cheers

Before you go buying a new set of cans, a cheap "mod" is to holesaw out the baffles, aka bafflectomy. There are tons of threads on it, as well as Greg's instructions: http://www.superhawk996.net/

Some of you...(Syclone) could just answer him instead of freaking out that he did not read the forums??

I really like my D&D exhaust, I bought the regular aluminum and they sound 10 times better than stock. They are much louder and I recommend them, they are the cheapest I found out of all the exhaust systems I looked at. Devil, Jardine, Yoshimura, Akrapovic and Two Brothers. They install nicely as I had no problems.

ANY REPLACEMENT CANS!

Debaffled cans, Devils, Jardines, Yoshes, Akrapovic, Two Brothers, Enrons, Leos, Microns. Almost anything is louder than the stock cans.

The sound is all about your preference. I like a V-8 sound, so I would recomend 2 bros, jardines or microns.

the loudest on a Hawk I have heard are WileyCo's. I have had Jardines, heard D&D's, two Bros, erion. The WileyCo's are by far the loudest I personally have heard.

Hard to find them, but some on here have them....

What is the part number? Where did you get them? High mount or low? If you dont mind, what did it cost you? Pictures please.

I'm not seeing a full system available from Two Brothers

Thanks

if i remember - it was like $1,000.. then the air filter and jet kit...
but words cant do justice for the impact... i can send you a file with audio if you want... all i know is that i wish someone told me how sick this was so that i would understand the deal... thankfully - i made a great choice... we can get into performance too, but really, when i am riding the rear all day, is that really necessary? LOL>.

turning heads

After installing D and D cans this summer, i meet up with group of sport bike riders in Omaha i ride with. Under gas station canopy i twisted throttle and all heads turned, guy beside me said he could feel the noise like a race car. I love the deep sound, but now have to wear ear plugs. Noticed the weight reduction, but know think bike is running lean.

C-dub, how do you mount the joint on there?
I have the TBR cans as well, and it seems impossible to get it to fully seal on the headers.

Part Number: 18392-MJ4-670

These gaskets, one in each header will cure the loose fitting TBROS header to
s-bends and leakage. The OEM gaskets which are recommended from TBROS are too
small and you will crank down those clamps as tight as they will go and you'll
still have leaks.

Saved from many years ago @ the runlevelzero board

Exactly. some of you take just as much time typing to "do a search , yadda yadda yadda", as you would to simply say "I like my yosh pipes" or whatever.
Sometimes I think people just wanna chat, its the middle of winter in most parts of North America and people wanna chat it up a bit about their bikes etc.

I know this was over 2 months ago, but i agree with Syclone.. It took me about 9 seconds to find these threads....

https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...=exhaust+sound

https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...=exhaust+sound

https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...hlight=exhaust

https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...hlight=exhaust

https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...hlight=exhaust

thumper61713.... how many times do you expect a person to answer the same "what does this exhaust sound like" question before they finally say, "take the 9 seconds, do a search and feel a sense of accomplishment for yourself" response. There is a knowledge base and search function for a reason... for research. If someone is not willing to do the research on thier own, then why take the time to write a detailed response to help them? Im not trying to be a dick, but come on, if you cant find the answer, fine... ask the question, but if there are 47,000 threads on it, dont expect everyone to repeat themselves over and over, and over and.....

If he wanted to BS, there is a section in the forum for that.... But then again, that would take 9 seconds to find that section of the forum and post in the right place.
