Are the larger European tanks still available from Honda? Would they fit the U.S version bikes and match our colors? Mort

Your best bet would be a VFR tank mod, do a search, a few guys have done them with success.

They do fit and the colors match but they are next to impossible to find on the used market.
Maybe one of the Euro member could get a price a new one for us.

Looking at approx $700 for a 19L tank brand new from UK add $300 for fuel tap and that's without delivery!

At 26 litres (almost 7 gallons) that Aussie tank must be HUGE.
I'd like to see a profile shot of it mounted on a bike.
I guess it would be nice to get well over 200 miles to a tank, though.

Well, some of the color schemes was US specific and some where specific for Europe, but if you have one of the standard colors like red, yellow or black, it's not a problem... Also, you will pinch your fingers at full lock unless you do some modifications... Minor things...

Since I answered this question for another forum member a month or so ago, I know the price... With current conversion rates, the price is just under $1500 with shipping (which isn't cheap)... As of right now the $ is weak and the Swedish currency is strong, so that's hurting you...

BTW, that's with the petcock... Those of you with newer than 2001 bikes wouldn't need that since you already have that mounted to the frame, like this tank requires... So that's almost $300 less...

I might just get a used tank and do the mods myself. I have the stitch welder, I just dont have the extra time needed.

I am expanding my dented up tank right now and if you don't have the time I would be willing to expand yours you can check out the project here.

https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...apacity-24353/

I may be able to do it another way that involves less bodywork in the end.
