Kreiger mcct

Got my Kreiger mccts today, not on yet. These look like a fine product with gaskets and detailed instructions. Price was about 65$ shipped. I am not sure how these would dissappoint so if you are in the market check with Kreiger, he was very helpful. Glock out.

Installed these today, no problems. I have no ticking of the cam chain cold or hot. Should I adjust them to that end? The bike may run better, but it does not run worse.

You did them finger tight then backed them off 1/8-1/4 turn, right? I think some will run even 1/2 turn. That isn't that much difference, one full turn is only .050". I used one flat of the bolt when I did my bike which is 1/6 turn. That is what all directions I've ever read or written recommend. Also any cold ticking will be really soft compared to the rattle of bad tensioners. I'm not overly sold on doing the hot adjustment now. Seems there is such a tiny change it is only a few thousandths. I used the hot adjustment on my KLX and the cold adjustment on the 550. In the hot adjustment I've never had to turn a bolt more than maybe 1/8 turn.

Thanks

I just saw this after hijacking another cct thread. My bike runs no worse and I think maybe even better. Great piece of mind issue.

And that's right on! For the money, why worry? I sit here year after year and watch guys trash perfect bikes bc they just don't get around to it. I had 12k on the clock when I bought my Superhawk. By the time I got to 16k I would wake up thinking about a failure. I finally parked the bike - I slept better but a month later they were done.
