Smile Full bafflectomy?

Hi all, just drilled 8x 12mm holes in the end of my standard can baffles, and like the sound and the volume increase.
However, what i'd like to know is how much louder would it be if i removed the baffle altogether? twice as loud? three times?
Any input welcomed.
Cheers, Jonesey.

Roughly twice. If you then take a very, very long drillbit and punch additional holes in the interior baffles, it magnifies about twice again, and flirts very dangerously with obnoxious. When I get home I plan to take some dB readings of the Extra-full cans I have currently mounted, then the "full bafflectomy" cans with just the rear baffle and pipe removed (no extra interior holes), then a stock set. But it'll be a while.

Asthetically, the rear baffle and first pipe removed sounds pretty damn good. The tone of the next level of 'carnage' sounds better, but the volume is too high IMO. Just my $.02

If you completely remove the baffle it's not overly loud, but like galaxie said once you start putting holes in the next baffle is when the fun starts. Drill a bunch of holes in that and you're at the louder end of the aftermarket pipe spectrum.

Or you can do what I did, cut both ends of the stock cans off, hammer out everything inside, shorten by 9" or so, and weld em back together. It's got a bark to it.

i cut out and removed the end baffle and it sounds awesome but now i have a hiccup at around 3000rpms only if im cruising around at that rpm. not if i accelerate throught that rpm. what adjustment do i have to make to get rid of that?

Not unless you manage to put the endpipe back in there... It's kind of the point with a bafflectomy... You open up the baffle to increase flow, gaining room to open up the airbox... Added together and with proper tuning you gain effect...

The change in noise is a bi-product...

found the washer at the hardware store and it seems to work. started engine. let it warm up. seems to idle fine. reved it a little. no problems. held throttle at 3000rpm, no studdering. Sweet!! i only have to wait 2 more months to test it on the street.

I tried drilling the 10-12 holes per exhaust can and it was a little louder. My buddy and i got creative drinking in my garage and used my plasma cutter and cut out the first baffle. It was a bit of a bastard to wrestle out with some vise grips. The bike is crazy loud. I was stoped by a cop here in calgary, he thought i has some kind of tricked out buell. Any ways no ticket was served, but my buddies hyabusas and Queen-B's are still louder than mine (full exaust, and a little pop can muffler). No real power improvement just noise. Could these bikes handle a turbo set up by chance?

It's been done, there are a bunch of videos on youtube of someone who did it..

The thing is, the stock crank is only good for 130HP or so.. Beyond that, you need far more custom work, to the point that you might as well start with a more suitable motor.
