front end swaps???

have a line on a complete late model CBR1000 front end. Is this a good fit?
Is the RC51 a better choice? Is it really worth the trouble?

Feedback welcomed!

Do a search, a member on here has a completed cbr1000rr conversion with pictures and instructions. The RC forks are the same length as the SH so that makes things a little easier. As far as if it's worth it that depends on what you use the bike for. If you are just riding around town or just some spirited rides the right fork springs and oil is usually enough. If you do track days or really hard riding then yes it's worth every penny. Not only do you get a stiffer better front end but much improved brakes as well.

Do a search I believe it was Icebud who documented that very swap. Know that it's not a bolt on swap. Well once you swap the races and bearings the front end IS a bolt on swap but I'm doing an RC51 front swap and still want to do things like move the radiators back slightly and still experimenting with bars. Stuff like steering radius and fairing clearance can give you some headaches.

I would do the 1000rr because it has radial mounted calipers. But if you go with the rc 51 you can find a bracket so that you radial mount the brakes.
