rock guard extenders

Accordian rubber gators are still the best and upsidedown forks DO have deflectors and can be damaged by rocks & such just like "standard" forks.

I made extensions from thin black polyethylene that velcro to the OEM rock guards for added protection height. Bugs that stick and build-up to the sliders can also damaged the seals. After/before every ride I carefully clean the sliders to prevent such occurences.

There could be a more creative way to put the fork guard on but dont really care that much about the little ****. I almost left them off but thought wtf. They havent come off in a few years, so it works.

Thanks for checking this out for the forum.

The Superbrace guys have incorporated a fork protector in their design, either in hard anodized black or polished aluminum, but it's not cheap:

Talking

Ok, I met with the owner of MFI, a local motorcycle dealer, and here is what I need to get a price and make this happen:

1. Please PM me if you are interested with the title of "Super Brace"
2. I need your city and state
3. How you plan to pay for the brace, CC, Paypal, MO, cashiers check

I would like to get the head count no later than Friday so I can pass this information along. The idea is to have one price drop shipped from the manufacturer to each member; otherwise, the braces will have to come into the shop and mailed individually to each member. More handling, greater the cost to us.

This is for the Superbrace and not the Coerce fork brace. So far it looks like we have approximately 20 members that have expressed interest and I know the SB is a bit more expensive than the Coerce brace, so I am trying to negotiate at least a 20% discount for the SB.

I look forward to hearing from those that are interested.

Thanks.

I'm assuming these will be the polished aluminum w/o the fork protectors? If I'm incorrect, let me know.

Here is the list of members that have expressed interest in the fork brace group buy and the other, shorter list, are members that have supplied me with payment type and address, just city and state. If any member see someone on the 'Interest' list please contact them and have them PM me with their information if they still want to participate in the group buy. I would like to submit this information to my contact this Friday.

Thanks to all.

I will find out what our cost will be plus shipping for the polished aluminium and the extra cost if someone wants black anodized or fork protectors.

You might note what you want as you respond so I have an idea what the breakdown is for each.

Thanks.

Reaper, as Admin I would like to officially thank you for picking up the ball on this and making it happen. Group buys benefit both buyer and seller and are a great tool for forum members to get good deals on cool parts. Bravo Zulu to you, brother! For your hard work you are awarded one yellow sticky of appreciation and have been granted 10 reputation points if I can figure out how to turn the damned things back on!

Tweety if necessary I can make sure this gets shipped to you if you want to get in on the group buy. You may have to send me the funds and I will handle it from there.

Isn't history fun, everyone? Although I must admit, I hadn't known where it came from. Freakin' squids.

And since I don't have the fancy smiley, I'll just inform you that my thread jacking is finished. :P

You have a screen name of "MarineHawk" and you didn't know where it came from? Where's your military history, son?!?

And yes, you DO have the fancy smilies. You have to go to the advanced editor and click on "More" link under the smilies.

Still don't know how much. The Coerce is a 5-piece design requiring 8 bolts to be tightened but because of that the forks are easier to remove individually, they also offer some adjustment latitude, and are thinner and permit the OEM rock guards to be trimmed & reinstalled. The SuperBrace is made in the good old USA (or is it?), is a 2-piece design requiring only 4 bolts to be tightened, has its own (for extra $$) rock guard (which is too short & narrow) and is easy to install (if your forks are right-on dimensionally).

Based on getting 20% of the Superbrace (= $118), the Coerce can be had for only $2 more. Shipping from Nippon is only $14 = $134 for the Coerce.

What is the total for the Superbrace, or at least shipping to, for example, 60077?

Thanks

Skokievtr:

Thats what I am working on with the local honda dealer, but I need to get an idea from members that have expressed interest whether or not they are on board so I can get a number to order and then a price.

I posted those members that said 'I'm interested' but now I need a payment method and city and state.

PM me with your information so I can include it. Right now we have 9 responding out of 18 that are interested.

Again, if anyone sees someone on the list that they know, please contact them as I am trying to meet with the dealer tomorrow at the earliest.

Thanks.
