I volunteer for the test fit. I have calipers, depth gauge, and
angle gauge. Send a set and tell me what to check.

Thanks, but I think I have a couple members who chimed in first.

It would be essayer if I knew someone around Pittsburgh that could just ride over to do a test... but as long as we can verify things... we can move forward.

Just an FYI.

The prototype was sent out, and we should have an answer on it's fit in a few days. (early next week) If all goes well, I'll start producing them before the end of next week.

WOW....

I didn't think I would get such a big response. I guess I'll have to to order a second bar of aluminum to fill all the potential orders listed.

Thanks guys.

Just a quick update....

The person doing the test fit for me, reported that there was a slight issue where it dropped into the air box. He is sending me the factory velocity stack to take the mounting dimensions from... and we should be good to go after that.

I'll post up a few pics as soon as I get the OE stack, and make the tweaks.

Actually, unless you have made a mistake there should be no "issue"...

But there should be the same thing happening to all the rest of us, the ring makes contact with other stuff inside the airbox, a result of making a ring instead of cutting out the ears that the stock part has... It was an premeditated choice to reduce cost... A file to one part on each ring and 3 minutes and it's a non-issue...

Look here and you can see pictures of mine installed... The boxy shape with a foam block makes contact on one, and if I remember correct, the other sits at angle to the bottom of the airbox and makes contact with the bottom...

If you want them to be bolt on without any work, cut the ring to ears... Otherwise just make people aware that they need a file...

Tweety...

The prototype I made is within a few thousandths of an inch to the drawings sent to me. My tester is sending me an OEM velocity stack, so I will double check the critical dimensions.

I still need to cut the mounting holes into the flange... so I may just add the cut-outs you are telling me about to my final CNC program.

Do you recall where the contact was? Should it be cut out where your air jets are?

Thanks for the pics.

Well, the reason for my cut-outs for the jets are that I have added the FloCommander (red pipes & blue box) but I'd say it's beneficial to have that space open anyway, it's open on the OEM one's and if you leave the flange it will disturb the air...

The interference was kind of asymmetrical, so hard to describe in detail... The OEM one's unfortunately won't help much as they have 6 tabs, and that is way to complex to copy...

I'd say to make things simple with as little work as possible, cut them "flat" the width of the tube, ie leave the flange on the sides where the holes are, cut it away entirely on the the other "sides", and just round of the corners... That leaves the jets exposed and it removes all the interference without making the shape more complex as "ears" do...
