D&D, Jardine or Devil

Witch one has the best fit and finish with the most HP/Torque gain. My bike has Errions allready but I've got to have the hi mounts . The bike is alllready jetted for the Erion will I have to re-jet?

I have the devil highmounts and love them, unique, sound great and are great looking. hp? never dynoed it, It feels like it has more punch but that's probably just me hitting the gas harder just to listen to them .

I am all for 2 brothers racing. I have a full system and I LOVE it. Lots of compliments. Looks great and a lot more punch. I don't know how many HPs I gained but makes a difference with those headers, that's fo sho.

Re: D&D, Jardine or Devil

Well i guess i will sound in for the Jardines,

Fit Finish are great, no real problems, had mine on for three years, high mount ovals with street baffle. Nice sound, not too quiet, not too load. They make a race baffle for same price.

I would guess the Jardines will be the best priced.

Try motorcycle accesories warehouse for pricing, hard to beat.

Re: D&D, Jardine or Devil

I ran 2 Bros for about 12-13k and changed over to Jardines just for the High Mount "look" and found to my suprize the Jardines have more power threw the power band ... I Guess if team Honda runs Jardines there must be something to it... I guess with there $ they can run whatever they want...

I have the devil highmounts and I love the sound!! At high RPM's these pipes scream. They are not as "low" sounding as the TBR pipes I've heard but from 4,500rpm's and up I think they sound a lot better.

Re: D&D, Jardine or Devil

I installed Leo Vince SBK high mounts on my bike. They allow you to keep your rear pegs. They cost more than alot of the others, but they are worth it. They sound incredible. A nice, deep, throaty sound. I can't tell you how many people have told me that it is the best sounding bike they have ever heard (from both sport bike and cruiser pilots).

I put it on the Dyno at a local charity function. It was a very hot day, and it still read 107.5 HP.

I don't mean to step on anyones toes with my first post, but I think the Leo Vince pipes have a better quality sound than the Jardins.

Is anyone running the D&D's? I heard they are loud I just dont know how loud. I agree the Leo Vince SBK high mounts are sweet and sound real good I just do want to spend that kind of money.

Re: D&D, Jardine or Devil

D&D pipes are always the loudest pipes you will here. I have seen and heard several VTR with them.

If you like it loud and obscene then D&D are you

Re: D&D, Jardine or Devil

My first comment is I currently run yoshes RS3 slip ons.( I got a killer deal on them) That being said.

I really like the sound and look of the Jardines. Expecialy the highmounts. They have a deep sound to them. If I had to part with my hard earned $ it would be jardines.

2brother pipes sound incredable on the shawk!!!!!!!!!
However they are wake the neighbors loud. For the few times that I ride without a helmet (crusing down A1A) they would be loud to the point of being annoying.

I leave at 630 in the morning for work and with the 2 brother pipes I think my neighbors would lynch me. :wink:

Microns fall into this same catagory for me. Set off car alarm loud (I have see it happen).

I dont like D&D's because they are just too dam loud. They are a straight through can which means that they flow great, but an engine needs backpressure to perform properly. I have heard them on a shawk and wasn't impressed. I would make the assumption that you wouldn't get as much power running D&D's. Why would I say this, little backpressure to push out the burnt exhaust gas from the headers.

Thats my thoughts for ya.

Re: D&D, Jardine or Devil

So best bang for the buck would be the Jardines, if so the race or street core?

Re: D&D, Jardine or Devil

I confirm that Micron are car alarm starter!! Every time I go onto the main street it's a real symphonie behind me!! 8) I must say that I like this, I guess it give some bad feeling to those owner of luxurious car that park there to show off!!

I also confirm about the D&D they are the loudest pipe for the VTR even that they are too lound for me... and I've Micron!!

If money was not an object, I think Akrapovic will be my choice or perhaps Moriwaki as RC996. By the way, RC996 if you read this post how many have you paid these awesome Moriwaki!? Guess it's also kinda expensive!!!

I've read a review of many pipe brand on a french magasine ( Motos & Motards ) it was a complete review with dynochart for each model. Unfortunatelly it was for the Kawa Z750! But there is some interesting facts in this. Maybe I can make a scan if some of you are interested!

Cheers

Re: D&D, Jardine or Devil

I have the Microns and I don't think they're that loud, no car alarms or complaints from anyone and they are "Not for street use, race only".

The two buddies of mine have D&D and Two Brothers. The D&D have a unique high performance sounding "bark" to them and really sing at higher revs.

The 2Bros sound like a friggin big block, deep and throaty. It would be great if Micron made high mounts like Jardine/Leo's, sounded like 2Bros and then D&D's when you wound it up.

Maybe Akrapovic or Moriwaki for princely sums but I would say that from all the different exhausts I've seen in person, its gotta be Micron for fit and finish/quality. As for most horsepower, who knows. They all gotta be close.

Re: D&D, Jardine or Devil

So, here we go with the scanned pictures...

Remember, this review is for some Kawa Z750 slip-ons and it come from a french magazine ( Moto & Motards ) so, this is in french of course!! Here are some quick one:

Puissance = Power
Couple = Torque
Poids = Weight
Cote d'amour = Overall appreciation

I have found this review very interesting because they have take the time to dyno every slip-on they have tried and that show some interesting fact... Of course, I guess I won't be the same with every bike ( as the VTR per example ) but I find this well done nevertheless.

( I've scanned them in high quality so you can click on them and zoom to see graf and text )

Now, take your own conclusion!

Cheers

Re: D&D, Jardine or Devil

Ok, as you can see I bought & installed the Jardine’s. However, I got the model numbers mixed up and bought the Race Cores and thought they were the Street Cores. But it was still a good deal at $502.00 to my door and I ordered them last Fri and got them on Tue, not bad. I installed them tonight and just got back from the 2 hour test ride!!!!! I was afraid that the Race Cores would be too loud, but they were fine, not too loud at all. There is only one word to use to describe the new sound……SEXY!!!!!!!!! I am very happy with the new pipes, the look and the sound and the performance. I normally have to use the choke the start the hawk, but after the pipes it started right up and after a few little pulls on the throttle it was idling like a fuel injected bike, even thought the outside temp was about 70 degrees F (I have to use the choke even when it’s 95 degrees F) Go figure.

No flat spots like some people said, but I did notice little stumbling between 3000 ~ 6000 RPM’s but it was very slight, it almost felt like small bumps in the road. So I may invest in a Jet-Kit, I already have the K&N filter.

Re: D&D, Jardine or Devil

The gains with those slip-ons seemed rather low. I wonder if they dynoed them with the restrictors installed. I could see the restrictors in the end of the pipes in nearly every picture. I've heard the French are very strict about noise and emission standards.
