Prepping aluminum Frame and rims

I'm trying to find the best way to prep my frame and rims for paint to make it last. Im going with a bright old school hot rod red in high gloss. On the frame and rims and probably a few key parts on the bike.

Any professional or any one with experience with this would be appreciated.

Look into powdercoat, it can look as good or better than paint, and lasts a lot longer.

+1 If you're going to go through the trouble of disassembling the entire bike down to a bare frame I'd get it powdercoated too.

Originally I was trying not to completely disassemble the entire bike since I'm trying to do everything my self. I know its ideal to powder coat and i know its the best way to go.
I suppose to get that professional look I probably should let someone powder coat it.

Well now I know what ill be doing the next couple of week ends LOL. Thanks Guys
