Normal run temp on SuperHawk??

I am new to the world of being a superhawk owner. I just bought this 2005 SH with 8000 miles for $6000 out the door. My main question for now is ... What is the normal operating temp for one of these and at what temp should I start getting nervous?

Mine runs anywhere from 170 to 205 (highest I have seen on mine but have heard higher) The fan on my '02 kicks on around 218-220 so unless you see much more that that I wouldn't worry a lot. Water wetter, engine ice, etc do seem to help and you can add a fan control switch by running a switched ground to the black fan wire at the temp sensor (right radiator) and never let it get above 200 like I normally do.

I am in West Palm Beach area, so it might be a little warmer here. If that makes a difference.

I've hit 235 in 100+ weather. No problem with the bike, but I would have rather been in an air conditioned car.

if you're worried about temperature (there's really no need to), then drain your antifreeze and replace it with engine ice. your bike will run anywhere from 10 to 30 degrees cooler.

Hey "death cattle"(afraid to ask what that means), any idea how engine ice compares to evans cooling waterless stuff? For the money it should be the best($60/gal) but I would switch for more efficiency.I also put a big zx7 oil cooler (4x bigger) on to help with city temps.

i couldnt tell you how it compares. engine ice is only 20 bucks a gallon and works much better than standard 50/50 antifreeze. ive never tried anything else. typically you get what you pay for though, but in this case it going for something thats 60 bucks a gallon might be over doing it a little.

How is this "Engine Ice" supposed to drop my coolant temps up to 30 degrees?

It's thicker than a standard 50/50 mix, and holds less energy per gallon (per their website), it'll reduce coolant flow, use more hp to pump, and is less conductive. Then of course unless you're above the thermostat temp it doesn't matter what's in there.

I'm not sold on water wetter either. Too many anecdotal stories, not enough facts.
