Lower fairing paint?

This may be a dumb question but I'm kinda torn on what to do. I like the look of the lower fairing painted to match the bike but everyone who sees my bike tells me to leave it gray. I think it looks fine in gray, but I think it looks less aftermarket if its the matching red. Just wondering what you guys think?Name: Picture011.jpg

I'm watching to get one for my yellow hawk and plan to make it black as a contrast to the yellow. I think the gray is a nice contrast to your red. I think either one would look good and it's really your choice cause what others think really doesn't matter, right?

Now thats a sharp looking Hawk. It looks sportier than most hawks and also has a unique look all its own. Nice job!

Thumbs up

I am up in the air about the lower fairing altogether. I've seen them in gray and in matching color. How about painting the lower gloss black and also paint the front wheel cover gloss black and add a rear wheel half-cover also in gloss black. That way you have a theme going around the lower fairing.

BTE, awesome custom VTR. Very exotic looking. Looking at the place where the upper fairing meets the lower fairing I'm guessing the upper was cut and a custom piece was added to match the lower. Also, the seat cowl looks like it was a VTR seat cut just after the bottom seat pad and a new custom piece attached and made to look seamless. Awesome work. I wish we could see the tail pipes. Thanks for posting the photo.

I like the contrast look to the belly fairing. Actually the color you have looks great. If it were mine, I'd strip off the upper fairing 996 SuperHawk decal, and I'd add a decal to the belly fairing, either HRC or HONDA.
