Christmas Leave Mods

Took some leave for christmas and decided to go ahead and order all the parts to finish my naked shawk mods. Have the headlamp, turn signals, bar end mirrors, and tail light coming, but Im having trouble with 2 parts I wanted to get.

I want an undertail kit but all the ones on ebay have built in tail lights or turn signals, which look silly to me, and every review Ive read say they dont work for poopie. That said, I ordered a very well reviewed tail light with integrated turn signals, so that renders a wired undertail pointless anyways. Anyone have basically an undertail tray that I can get/buy off them? or does anyone know a way for me to make my tail have the clean look without a kit? (and with very few tools, I live in a condo)

The other thing Im looking for is fork headlamp mounting brackets, but unfortunately all the good looking ones (read that as, ones with holes into which I can mount my turn signals) top out at 38mm, not our massive 41mm forks. (Which I find silly as according to a chart I found, most bikes are 40mm+) If anyone has a set laying around that I can get/buy, r knows where I can find some, or can manufacture some, etc... please let me know.

I have to head back to training on the 3rd of January, but I would like to go ahead and have everything ordered so I can slap the bike together when I get back in February and ride it till I need new wheels. Let me know what advice, or parts you guys have, also Im including a link to the type of brackets Im looking for, just to give you a rough idea. Thanks in advance guys!

There are these, but they are a little pricey....but look to be decent and come in all fork tube sizes.

Yeah those are nice, but miles outside of my acceptable price point unfortunately.

Don't know if these will work for you but you could contact them as they don't list what size forks they work with.....

I have 2 choices for you if you're interested.

The first pic is from a SV650 shortened to fit between Superhawk triples (apparently shorter than the SV), hence the evident welding. I'm currently using the ears for my current set up, so these will be sold without the ears (easy to find on ebay). $20 shipped.

Second pic is the set I was using before I picked up the SV setup. Ears were lengthened to allow headlight bucket to clear igniton. $25 shipped.

Both sets are for 41mm forks.

As far as the undertail goes, it can be cleaned up relatively easy with a dremel and a drill. If you purchased the same integrated tailight I have you won't need the license plate light and rather conveniently the mounting holes for those can be used to remount the license plate. The rear keyhole for the seat release will have to be relocated under the tail (there's a thread here somewhere detailing this) but it's all fairly easy. The undertail can be cut to almost flow with the lines of the tail.

Sounds good. If I hear from you tonight I can get them mailed tomorrow afternoon, otherwise it'll have to wait until Monday/Tuesday.
