Carbon Fiber Case Cover?

I got a little to anxious to get the bike out even with a little bit of ice on the roads. Long story short, right case cover took a beating but managed to save all the plastics, pipe, etc... So, I've seen them before but can't seem to find them now. They are protectors made of carbon fiber / kevlar for the left and right side cases and I think that not only would it add protection but also help mask the results of my stupidity.

Anyone know where I can find these? Thanks in advance

I already asked this question a few weeks ago and got no responses. Good luck and PM me if you find any.

I am thinking about making some myself, shouldn't be too hard. Google DIY carbon fiber, resin and fiber sheets are not that costly, and I would think it is easy to cast the cases in clay, then cast a positive in plaster or something and vacuum form it in a plastic bag.

If I get around to it, I will post about it.

That is an interesting idea... I know I have seen them though, just having a hard time finding them again.

You might want to check www.thurn-motorsports.de/html/sc36.html. I had it saved as a favourite place under the heading "vtr case covers." I had problems getting into the site to confirm it. Hope you have better luck. Sorry about the incident with your vtr.

Resurrecting an old thread, but I did a search and this was the only info I could find. Does anyone have any new links or sources for bolt-on case protectors?

Not a bolt on type but a sturdy carbon cover that you stick on. I've crash tested them on my track bike and they stand up to some proper abuse... 50mph lowside and hardly a mark on them....

They are made in Germany. They do take a little bit of time as they are made to order.
Email this chap and ensure you specify a Firestorm...he might send you ones for an SP..

What do they stick on with? Would some good 3M automotive tape work for that? If so, maybe I could fab up my own.

Just some Wurth silicone sealant, the 180+degrees stuff. I think because of the stickiness rather than the heat... If yo use quite a lot, it doesn't come off easily!
